Phil Soran is a serial technology entrepreneur who was inducted into the 2016 Minnesota Business Hall of Fame. Phil cofounded Flipgrid in 2015, and serves as the Executive Chairman. Flipgrid is an educational technology company that was spun out of the University of Minnesota. Previously, he was the founder, President and CEO of Compellent Technologies, which started in his basement in 2002. Compellent went public on the NYSE in 2007, and was one of the fastest growing storage companies in the world before acquisition by Dell for $960 Million dollars in 2011.
